A sad post today:  Bob Guskind, the writer of the Gawanus Lounge Blog and a freelance journalist here in Brooklyn was died yesterday in his apartment.  Bob was an acquaintance of mine through a few work things, but always made a personal friendship out of every connection that he made.  He epitomized the good that comes out of blogging: never the endless strings of words rocketing off into a blank digital echo chamber, but rather building a community of people and improving the shared space we all hold in common.  Plus, the dude was an all around good guy.   RIP, Bob…  Brooklyn and the Blogosphere community lost a great piece yesterday.

I’ll add my own little connection to Bob to the outpouring currently happening online:  Here is an interview with Bob and Louise Crawford that we had (about the roll of blogging in general) on Brian Lehrer Live.
